  “20th Century looks like a quaint storefront repair shop, and the elderly couple who run it know how to fix pretty much anything. But the cons here far outweigh the pros. You'll wait six to eight weeks for any word that your equipment is being serviced. The prices on new gear are exorbitant. And don't even think about returning something. I'd taken equipment there a few times for repairs, and had recommended them to friends, but when I tried to return a pair of speakers I'd bought -- unopened, with a receipt clearly stating All returned goods must be accompanied by this bill -- the owner, Mitch, flatly refused to accept it, and then, when I protested, began to curse at me and told me he had 100,000 customers and didn't need me, a guy who'd only had a lowly receiver fixed a few times. Big deal, he sniffed. For a moment, I thought he might reach under the counter and haul out a shotgun. I was made to feel like a criminal. I've never experienced such aggressive behavior from a merchant. It was absurd. The e-commerce world may be killing them, but that ain't the way to meet the challenge, by berating good customers who've supported you. Unbelievable.”
